Kutluq Murad was still covered in battle wounds when he hobbled to the white felt for his coronation. However, determined to avenge his older brother's death, he was soon at war against the Yomuts once more. The wily Yomuts pleaded for pardon and offered to send their leader to seek the Khan's forgiveness publicly. This overture of peace was in fact a treacherous plot and led to the Khan's assasination.
